My motives are not entirely literary

I told myself I would not go back to Auvillar (Deep France). I’ ve been four times, taught three workshops, why be greedy ? Each time is enriched by the great company of o ther poets, old and young. Sure, we write poetry. We give readings.

But mostly I’m going back for the food and the wine! And the old people of the village are so loving and funny, and even the dogs are mostly nice.

Marilyn, will you send us dispatches from France when you arrive? Those of us who can’t attend will want to enjoy the food and wine vicariously, the old people and dogs.

Thanks Jeff, yes, of course! But I want Contrary poets to come! We still have four spaces, and I can help people negotiate discounts (mkallet@utk.edu). Did I mention the wine?

Thanks for Contrary! I may be reading our Darwin poems in Vienna this July. Will also keep you posted on that, and will credit Contrary.
      Cheers, Marilyn
